The MMT Partnership is going to investigate effective ways of developing VET systems around mentoring, particularly in the context of community peer mentoring schemes.
Mentoring components are a growing focus of many social exclusion and community development programmes across Europe and peer mentoring in particular is increasingly popular given the focus on user-centred service delivery. The broad aims of the partnership are to collaborate on understanding and analysing the training needs in their countries of mentors who work with particular groups of people within the community setting. The Partnership will foster interchange and cooperation between partner organisations and their networks of relevant stakeholders, to identify desired learning outcomes, share local expertise gained in their particular country contexts, and develop a common approach to clearer pathways for learners wishing to become professional mentors. The MMT Partnership will finally produce guidelines and recommendations for appropriate curriculum development and qualification frameworks for mentoring training to be adopted across the EU.
